The most luxurious salon is now here! Opened by the young couple Aaqil and Afsha Aaqil Prasala, the A&A salon provides a luxurious feel of grooming by trained and experienced stylists with upgraded tools. A&A is situated in the suburb region of Caranzalem alongside the petrol pump which is a noted landmark, and it also has the availability of parking. Run by the couple, the duo found their perfect personal expertise in the business – Aaqil manages the business while Afsha does the hairstyles and makeup. Like any other venture, this salon was a dream not just of Afsha but also of Aaqil. Initially, Afsha opened her first salon in Miramar named ‘Afsha’ in the touristy area of Miramar.
Since ‘Afsha’ was exclusively a ladies parlour, Aaqil who wanted work as the manager was restricted entry. That is when they thought of opening a unisex salon and spa to cater to the needs of different people and genders. From kids to senior citizens, the salon is open and accessible to all providing services like pedicure-manicure, hairstyling, haircuts, waxing, spa, bridal make up… the list is endless! Calling their venture a family salon, A&A sure has kept its word because the gracious salon has an inbuilt elevator even though it’s a 2 storey building making it readily accessible for the senior citizens to switch floors. Also, special provisions have been made for the differently abled with an easily accessible entry into the salon. Aaqil the co-owner, as well as Afsha’s husband, said, “A&A is open to all. We would love to have more and more people coming to the salon as it is convenient and accessible to all”.
The masterminds behind this grand salon – Afsha and Aaqil – got married in 2007. Both were born in Mumbai and brought up in Goa. Afsha has been in the industry of fashion and beauty for 17 years. After completing her education in Goa she traveled to Mumbai where she learnt her basics and went to the USA for advance studies. As we all know, beauty and fashion is one such industry that constantly changes over time hence to keep up with the trend, Afsha attends seminars to upgrade and meet the demands of the clients. The lavish salon consists of 2 floors. The bottom floor has the salon room wherein everything related to hair is dealt with, the pedi-mani room for pedicure and manicure and the private room of Afsha where she works and utilizes for bridal styling. The entrance opens to a sitting lounge with handy fashion magazines to ponder on while waiting for your turn. It is one of the rare salons that also provides free Wifi, so you have options to choose from while you wait for your special service! The second floor houses an extravagant spa that has 9 rooms out of which 3 rooms are used for waxing and facials, one couple room for spa, and 4 individuals spas of which 2 are multipurpose. Give yourself a day in their stylish spa and I am sure you will feel like you have entered a totally different world. Many people have mistaken the salon to be expensive and costly but on the contrary, the prices look comparative and reasonable. When asked about the functioning of the salons at two different places, he said, “We manage both the salons even though we have to go there every day. Plus Afsha takes only appointments. However, walk-ins are welcome in the Miramar parlor”.
Their additional exciting bonuses include bridal makeup and hairstyling at home and free pick up and drop service within a 5-kilometer radius. On the 29th of this September, they celebrated their first anniversary! They have grown exponentially in a short time and show immense scope in the years to come with plans to expand their business and cater to the demands of their clients with best services now and forever more.
