Tinge – The Taste of Coastal India

Nestled in the heart of Goa- situated in the capital city Panjim, Hotel Delmon has enriched its fame with a new taste and flavour from the restaurant ‘Tinge’. Just as the name suggests, ‘Tinge’ with ‘The Taste of Coastal India’ is a trace of every cuisine. The speciality of the restaurant is the union of the coastal food ranging right from Malwan to the South of Malabar and from Tamil Nadu to West Bengal.

The journey of ‘Tinge’ began when it felt the need of travelling into another dimension of serving food to the customers.  The restaurant is destined to provide a wide range of cuisines and flavours to the Goan Palette, where one can step out and try something new.

Shekhar Divadkar, the business head of the hospitality division of ALCON Group states, “Malaka Spice was a restaurant catering towards a South East Asian cuisine. There was an expectation that the Goans would accept the type of cuisine Malaka spice was offering”. Unfortunately, it failed to trigger the Goan Tastebud. That is the time when the composition of a coastal line multi-cuisine accumulated.

Tinge mesmerizes its prime focus on the locals to display them of distinguished items than the regular ones. The haven aids the international clients with a balance on the spice levels according to their preference and a merge of continental bliss.

Every food item used in the preparation of the dishes has its own realm with various seasoning flavours. Along with the obvious seafood in the coastal cuisine, meat, poultry and vegetables make a mark (with the exclusion of Beef and Pork). The freshly chopped mutton has an interesting fact where Chef (Somashekar Shetty) claims, “The delicious taste of the Mutton is because of its excellent quality procured from the neighbouring states.”

These items blend in many masalas, spices, and vegetables.  With its extreme embark on the coastal food; ‘Tinge’ doesn’t miss out on the Indian favourite ideal food that includes the Tandoori Chicken, Murg Makhani, Parathas, Biryanis and more. The sensational objective of the Biryani lingers in the style of serving its variants like the Peri Peri Prawn Biryani, Chicken Cafreal Biryani, Chicken Xacuti Biryani as well as Fish Rechado Biryani.

The rare fact about Tinge is that unlike most places serving the favourite Chinese food, the Chinese Thali is extraterrestrial and loved by the youth.

Apart from the rich appetizing food specialities, the restaurant grooms in a subtle ambience of qualities like ‘Going Green’- less use of plastic (for e.g. straws are only provided on request by the customer). ‘Tinge’ also offers a 20% discount for the armed forces personals with an identification card. The unique practice of ‘By the bottle rate’ becomes pocket-friendly for the clients coming in groups.

The advantage of holding an in-house bakery has benefitted the restaurant in preparing their desserts. Sweet tooth lovers can dive into delicious bakes and cream along with Indian sweets. The collection includes the Bulo Saas Rival, Chocolate port wine pastry, Serra durra, Payasam, Gulab Jamun, Modak, and regional speciality desserts.
